The company filed an application with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) seeking authority to export up to 8 million metric tons per year (398.5 Bcf/year) of LNG to all current and future countries with which the U.S. has a Free Trade Agreement (FTA). The request came only days after the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission approved the start-up of a portion of the NSD facilities to provide service to three shippers beginning Oct. 1 (see Shale Daily, Sept. 24).
