AltaGas Services bought three Canadian processing facilities andassociated gathering lines worth $17.4 million on Friday,continuing the Calgary-based midstream company’s trek toward the$200 million growth-spending goal set at the beginning of 1999.With this purchase, AltaGas has spent and committed a total of $115million in its acquisitions and expansion program so far this year.

As the date of random assignment draws near in Georgia’sderegulated gas market, Georgia Natural Gas Services (GNGS) iscatching up to Scana Corp. in terms of statewide market share. Dueto its success in the race for Georgia gas customers, GNGSannounced last Monday it will open a new call center in Cobb Countyto help answer newly-acquired customers’ questions. The Atlanta GasLight (AGL) affiliate has won over one-third of the 839,000 totalswitches, second only to Scana Corp.’s 38% market share.

Coastal Field Services Co. made a small increase in itsinterests in Gulf of Mexico Mobile Bayarea and gained the companyoption to increase its share significantly more.

Packaged Ice Inc. plans to outsource energy management of 60U.S. ice manufacturing facilities to Enron Energy Services (EES).Enron will evaluate and implement capital projects related toPackaged Ice’s “private utility” to increase productivity andefficiency of the plants. Enron also will provide electricity ormanage energy procurement at the facilities.

CMS Corp.’s marketing division, CMS Marketing, Services and Trading (MST), completed an agreement last Tuesday to purchase a total of 9.3 Bcf of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the North West Shelf LNG project in Australia for delivery to the CMS Trunkline LNG facility in Lake Charles, LA. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

CMS Corp.’s marketing division, CMS Marketing, Services and Trading (MST), completed an agreement Tuesday to purchase a total of 9.3 Bcf of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the North West Shelf LNG project in Australia for delivery to the CMS Trunkline LNG facility in Lake Charles, LA. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. The announcement marks the second major deal CMS has struck to take advantage of its purchase of Eastern Panhandle Pipeline and Trunkline Gas Co. from Duke Energy last year.
