Report: Cuomo Had Considered Limited Fracking in NY
New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo was reportedly considering a plan to allow 10 to 40 horizontal test wells on a trial basis in the state’s Southern Tier, but changed his mind after discussing high-volume hydraulic fracturing (HVHF) with Robert F. FERC Issues Favorable DEIS on Sparrow’s Point LNG Terminal
With mitigation, the construction of the proposed AES Sparrows Point LNG receiving terminal at an industrial site in Baltimore Harbor would be environmentally acceptable, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission said in a draft environmental impact statement (DEIS) issued Friday. The Commission was quick to point out that the DEIS is not the final word on the controversial project and said it would hold public meetings to gather comments before a final environmental decision is made.
