Northern Natural said the 89 Mitchell CO2 outlet will be out forgas days Nov. 30 through Dec. 1 for planned pipeline maintenanceaffecting 80,000 MMBtu/d. Mitchell plant volumes will be at zeroduring the period.

El Paso said Friday the White Rock (NM) Station had been takenout of service for emergency maintenance. The pipeline heldcapacity out of San Juan Basin at the Cycle 2 scheduled rate of2,685 MMcf/d Friday but lowered the volume slightly to 2,680 MMcf/dfor Saturday’s gas day.

Talisman Acquiring Rigel Energy

Talisman Energy Inc. of Calgary said it was successful in itsoffer to acquire Rigel Energy Corp. About 55 million common shareshave been tendered in response to its offer to purchase all of thecommon shares of Rigel Energy Corp. This represents more than 95%of Rigel shares on a fully diluted basis. All of the conditions ofTalisman’s offer have been satisfied. Talisman has taken up and ispaying for all of the Rigel common shares validly tendered up tothe expiry time of the offer. Talisman intends to acquire theremainder of the Rigel shares.

DPL Inc., parent of the Dayton Power and Light Co., was recentlyselected by the Indiana Farm Bureau as its energy partner, thecompany said last week. Under the agreement, DPL Energy will be theenergy provider of choice for the Indiana Farm Bureau and itsmembership, supplying natural gas and other energy services. Thisannouncement comes on the heels of DPL and the Ohio Farm Bureaurenewing their eight-year relationship. The Indiana Farm Bureau hasrepresented Hoosier farmers since 1919 and is now the largestagricultural organization in Indiana with more than 272,000members. It provides its members with a number of value-addedservices that include insurance, accounting, education, and nownatural gas through DPL Energy. DPL currently manages approximately25 Bcf of natural gas annually.

Transwestern said the failure of a compressor unit at Station 4(Apache County, AZ) has lowered West of Thoreau capacity from850,000 MMbtu/d to about 750,000 MMbtu/d. The unit is expected toreturn to service Sunday.

A lightning strike Monday night at PG&E GasTransmission-Northwest’s Station 13 (Chemult, OR) caused ashortfall in receipts, but PG&E GT-NW said it worked with NOVAto correct respective linepacks under an Operational BalancingAgreement and thus did not expect any impact on Tuesday’s scheduledvolumes. However, it was unable to schedule any increased receiptsat Kingsgate or additional deliveries through Station 13 Tuesday.

FPL’s Fort Myers Project Gets Green Light

Florida Power & Light Co. (FPL) said Thursday it receivedapproval of its final construction permits to restructure the FortMyers power plant and will begin work at the site immediately.Generation from the $500 million project (called a “repowering”project) will be phased in beginning in early 2001 withcombined-cycle conversion complete by mid-year 2002.
