Markey Plans to Bring Back ‘Use It or Lose It’ Legislation

Responding to the Obama administration’s rollout of a new five-year plan for potential development of the Outer Continental Shelf (OCS), Rep. Edward Markey (D-MA) said he will reintroduce his “Use It or Lose It” legislation that would levy fees on nonproducing oil and natural gas leases when Congress returns from its spring recess this week.

SDG&E Gets Proposed Approval on Smart Meter Settlement

San Diego Gas and Electric Co. said Tuesday that prospects look good for it to begin a four-year rollout of advanced electric and gas meters later this year. The combination utility received a favorable decision by a California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) administrative law judge on its proposed metering program, which still requires approval by the commission.
