Producers Request Exemptions for About 80% of Gas Wells Affected by Alberta Shut-In Order
Alberta gas producers have requested exemptions for about 80% of the natural gas wells affected by the Alberta Energy and Utilities Board’s (AEUB) Sept. 1 shut-in order. The 733 wells may continue to produce gas unless objections are filed by crude bitumen producers or the AEUB, according to the shut-in order.

Kern Seeks FERC Authorization to Begin Service on Expanded Pipe
Kern River Gas Transmission has requested final authorization from FERC to begin transportation services on its massive 2003 Expansion Project, which is expected to be ready for service on May 1. Company officials told the Commission on Monday that construction is on schedule and shippers need about seven days to line up gas supply and market commitments and make their nominations on the pipeline. Kern has asked for final FERC approval by April 21.

The West Leg Expansion project is designed to add 220,000 Dth/d of firm transportation capacity to its system in order to serve new demand from local distribution companies and power generators.
