California regulators have filed a protest of El Paso Natural Gas Co.’s proposed rate increase. They have requested a hearing in the matter, and asked the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to suspend El Paso’s proposed rates for the maximum five-month period.

Council Seeks Comments on Proprietary Trading by Banks

The Financial Stability Oversight Council (FSOC), which was created by the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform Act, has requested comments from the public to assist it in making recommendations to help federal agencies develop regulations to bar banks from engaging in proprietary trading and from maintaining certain relationships with hedge funds and private equity funds.

Tennessee implemented an Imbalance Warning for market-area Zones 5 and 6 Thursday, saying effective immediately it requested that customers match physical flow with scheduled quantities to prevent imbalances in those zones that would threaten the pipeline’s operational integrity. “Due to the emergent repair issue at Station 321 and high demand in the Northeast, Tennessee does not have the ability to absorb imbalances caused by underdeliveries by receipt point operators into the system and overtakes from the system by delivery point operators.”
