Gulf South declared a force majeure event due to repairs required at the Carthage Junction Expansion Compressor Station that began Tuesday and will last until further notice. Gulf South said that effective with Timely cycle nominations for Wednesday’s gas day going forward, it is anticipated that scheduled receipts in the “Area 8 to 16 Scheduling Group” will be restricted to Primary Firm only.

Former Arkla CEO: Arkansas Severance Tax Still Too Low
Arkansas should increase its severance tax rate on natural gas production, including production from the Fayetteville Shale, to help pay for road repairs in gas producing areas, said Sheffield Nelson, former CEO of Arkla Inc., the state’s largest gas company. Saying it expected to complete repairs sometime Friday, Rockies Express (REX) declared a force majeure event for Thursday’s gas day at Bertrand Compressor Station due to an aftercooler leak on Unit 5. Until further notice REX was limiting quantities through Segment 250 to 1,730,000 Dth/d. Based on the level of scheduled quantities, AOR/IT, secondary and primary FT quantities are at risk of not being fully scheduled, the pipeline said.

Due to a force majeure event at Compressor Station 2 in Flagstaff, AZ, the station is down for repairs, Transwestern said Monday. It was required to reduce capacity on the Thoreau/West System effective with Intraday 1 (Cycle 3) nominations for Monday’s gas day through Thursday. The cut was from normal Thoreau/West capacity of 1,225,000 MMBtu/d to about 1,075,000 MMBtu/d, Transwestern said. Full volumes are expected to become available again for Friday’s gas day.
