Matador an Eagle Ford Oil Bull

Matador Resources Co., which is focused on the liquids-rich portion of the Eagle Ford Shale, grew its oil production almost eight-fold last year to just over 1.2 million bbl from 154,000 bbl in 2011 and 33,000 bbl in 2010. The company will stay focused on the Eagle Ford and growing its Permian Basin position as gas prices aren’t high enough to support more Haynesville Shale activity, CEO Joe Foran said Thursday.

Correction

In the June 23 article titled “UNG Seeks Removal of Trading Limits” it was incorrectly stated that the United States Natural Gas Fund (UNG) at the close of business Monday held a total of 229,890 August futures contracts on IntercontinentalExchange (ICE) and 97,746 August swaps contracts. The 229,890 contracts on ICE are swaps, not futures, and the 97,746 swaps contracts are New York Mercantile Exchange swaps. NGI regrets the errors.

Rockies Avoid Overall Softness; TS Erin Fading

Declines of cooling load in the Midwest and to a slight degree in the South, along with the removal of one tropical storm threat to offshore production, resulted in falling prices at most points Thursday.
