The New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (BPU) has approved a request from NUI Elizabethtown Gas to increase its basic gas supply service charge (BGSS) by $28.8 million and societal benefits charges (SBC) by $8.4 million. The combined effect will increase a typical residential gas customer’s heating bill by 12.1%.

Kern Receives FERC Authorization to Begin Service on Expanded Pipe
Kern River Gas Transmission received final authorization from FERC on Friday to begin transportation services May 1 on its massive 2003 Expansion Project. Company officials told the Commission last Monday that construction was on schedule and shippers needed about seven days to line up gas supply and market commitments and to make their nominations on the pipeline.
