Correction

Due to a resubmission of data, the amount of natural gas marketed by RBS Sempra reported in NGI’s 1Q2010 Top North American Gas Marketers Ranking (see NGI, June 14) has been increased to 9.50 Bcf/d from the previously reported 6.40 Bcf/d. As a result, the total gas volume marketed by the 26 companies participating in the survey has been corrected to 147.69 Bcf/d from the previously reported 144.59 Bcf/d.

Murkowski: EPA Action Moves Shell Closer to Chukchi Sea Exploration

Sen. Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, the ranking Republican on the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee, says she is cautiously optimistic that the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) proposed approval of air quality permits will allow Shell to proceed with its planned exploration of the Chukchi Sea.

Senate OCS Bill Calls for Royalty-Sharing with Coastal States

Sen. Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, the ranking Republican on the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee, and Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-LA) have introduced legislation that not only would permit drilling for oil and natural gas closer to the western coast of Florida, but also would give coastal states that agree to allow exploration and production off their shores a piece of the revenue pie.
