Tea Party’s Paul Urged to Release Pipe Safety Bill

After meeting with members of the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) last Wednesday, Tea party conservative Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) called on the Senate to incorporate recommendations from the NTSB’s probe of the San Bruno, CA, explosion in its pipeline safety reauthorization legislation, including removing a provision in the current bill that would grandfather older pipelines from having to install certain safety devices.

Tea Party conservative Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) has placed a procedural hold on pipeline safety reauthorization legislation, which would block the measure from coming up for a vote on the Senate floor and possibly prevent it from clearing Congress this year.
