Natural gas pipeline giant El Paso Corp. on Wednesday reported a one-time quarterly loss for its investment in the Ruby Pipeline, which is carrying Rocky Mountain gas to West Coast markets, but the company completed a historic $8 billion pipeline backlog and continues to add new projects to meet customers’ infrastructure needs, said CEO Doug Foshee.

Energy Transfer Partners LP (ETP) said Thursday that it has made an agreement to provide natural gas gathering, processing and transportation services in the Woodford and Barnett shales for XTO Energy Inc., a subsidiary of ExxonMobil Corp.

The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is ordering water treatment plants in the state to immediately test for radioactivity and other contaminants from Marcellus Shale wastewater.

Enthusiasm for uncovering oil deposits in the Eagle Ford Shale of South Texas hasn’t waned at El Paso Corp. In fact, the company likely will move more rigs into its leasehold as the year progresses, CEO Doug Foshee said Thursday.
