TransCanada Pipelines said it expects a corporate earnings increase of C$29 million from the National Energy Board’s decision to approve an increase in its Mainline common equity ratio from 33% to 36% effective Jan. 1, 2004. The equity ratio was four percentage points lower than requested by the pipeline company but TransCanada said it was a step in the right direction.

The North Texas Expansion will involve the construction of about 40 miles of 30-inch diameter pipeline along an existing right of way from the Kountze, TX, compressor station to the Longville, LA, compressor station. The expansion is expected to be in service in 2007.

Ownesboro, KY-based TGT Pipeline LLC, a subsidiary of Loews Corp., has changed its name to Boardwalk Pipelines LLC. The renamed company is the parent of two operating subsidiaries in the interstate gas pipeline industry, Texas Gas Transmission LLC and Gulf South Pipeline Co. LP, whose names will remain unchanged.
