Partnership Formed to Acquire, Develop U.S. Gas Infrastructure

Tenaska Capital Management LLC (TCM) and Energy Spectrum Partners V LP said Monday they have formed and plan to jointly operate Frontier Gas Services LLC to acquire, develop, own and operate natural gas infrastructure primarily in the Midcontinent, Permian Basin, East Texas and unconventional shale plays across the United States. The partnership pledged “at least” $250 million to fund the development.

Midcontinent Express Pipeline LLC (MEP) Phase I began interim service on 266 miles of 42-inch diameter pipeline from interconnects with Houston Pipe Line Co. and Natural Gas Pipeline Co. of America (NGPL) near Paris, TX, to an interconnect with the Columbia Gulf Pipeline near Delhi, LA, the pipeline said last Friday.

Pine Prairie Seeks to Double Storage Project’s Capacity

With phase one of its storage project still not completed, Pine Prairie Energy Center LLC has returned to FERC asking to double the working gas capacity of its storage project near the Henry Hub in Louisiana to 48 Bcf. At the same time Standard & Poor’s Ratings Service (S&P) has lowered the company’s credit rating because of delays and cost overruns on the initial project.
