Sonat reported experiencing an unscheduled outage Tuesday on its 10-inch La Rose Field Line in St. Martin Parish, LA. The pipeline declared force majeure and said no nominations will be scheduled until further notice at the La Rose Field Receiving Station. Only one producer with an “insignificant” amount of production was affected, a spokeswoman said.

Northern Natural Gas said a planned maintenance outage of its Northrup Compressor Station, affecting 4,000 MMBtu/d, has been extended through Tuesday.

Transportation Notes

Florida Gas Transmission ended an Overage Alert Day notice Thursday. PG&E Gas Transmission-Northwest (GTN) announced a maintenance postponement. An outage of compressor Unit 4B, previously scheduled for Wednesday through today, is now set for Oct. 3-5. It will limit Kingsgate capacity to 2,390 MMcf/d. GTN also said it will begin an unscheduled overhaul of the A compressor at Station 11 next Tuesday, The work, which will continue through Sept. 30, will cut capacity through Station 14 to 1,870 MMcf/d.

ANR will perform maintenance Sept. 1 on the 8-inch Sheboygan Lateral (Line 385) in Wisconsin. The work will cause a one-day outage of the Sheboygan meter station. Citing a delay, ANR postponed work on the Burlington Lateral, also in Wisconsin, which had previously been scheduled for Friday and Saturday of last week (see Daily GPI, Aug. 17). The maintenance now will be performed on the 4-inch Line 325 today and on the 8-inch Line 325-1 Wednesday. A minimal reduction in capacity to the Burlington delivery point may occur Wednesday, ANR said.

Panhandle Eastern plans a maintenance outage of the 100 Line from Louisburg to Houstonia for Thursday and Friday. The Pony Express point will be unavailable for 36 hours, affecting about 75 MMcf.

A little more than half of Destin Pipeline’s recent throughput of about 800 MMcf/d was cut Friday due to an outage of one of the processing trains at the BP Amoco-operated plant in Pascagoula, MS, according to a Destin spokesman. He said the train was expected to be returned to service by Saturday.

Due to the uncertainty posed by Tropical Storm Barry, Tennessee has delayed the start of a 500 Line outage until Tuesday. The work previously was set to begin today (see Daily GPI, Aug. 3).

Tennessee delayed the start of a maintenance outage on its 500 Line, previously set for today (see Daily GPI, July 27), until Monday. Tennessee anticipates restricting and sealing 40-65% of Secondary services through the end of the month at meters upstream of Station 530, and will not accept any nominations at the Lake Borgne meter Aug. 11-23.

Mirant Challenges CPUC, Cal-ISO To Prove Outage Assertions

Fending off accusations that it intentionally withheld power from the California market in March and April of this year, Mirant Corp. is challenging the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) and the California Independent System Operator (Cal-ISO) to cough up evidence that would substantiate these charges.
