Gulf South pushed up the start of this week’s maintenance on its Index 8 segment in East Texas, originally set for 7 a.m. CST (see Daily GPI, Jan. 6), to Monday at 7 a.m. The work is still expected to last about 48 hours.

Idaho PUC Denies Avista Request to Reconsider Gas Deal Disallowance

Although they allowed some mathematical corrections sought by the utility, the Idaho Public Utilities Commission last Wednesday denied a request for reconsideration by Avista Utilities’ for its full cost recovery of a natural gas supply deal and cost overruns at the utility’s Boulder Park generation project in Spokane, WA. The computational corrections will have no immediate impact on Avista’s utility rates in Idaho, the PUC said.

EnCana Ups Sales Forecasts, Increases ’04 Capital Budget

EnCana Corp. on Tuesday raised its sales growth forecast to 12% this year — 2% higher than originally predicted, and pumped up its 2004 capital budget by $850 million. The new forecast only takes into account organic growth, but with its recent Tom Brown Inc. acquisition, EnCana expects 2004 sales to reach 725,000-765,000 boe/d, a 15% midpoint increase from 650,200 boe/d in 2003 sales.

Investors Show Interest in Reliant Junk Bond Sale

Reliant Resources Inc. said Friday that its originally planned $350 million bond sale, which turned into a sale for $1.1 billion worth of senior secured bonds, has gotten better-than-expected interest from investors. The sale is slated to close Tuesday (July 1).
