Northern Natural Gas said Friday an outage of the Mustang Island757/762 platform offshore Texas, which it operates, was now expectedto extend through the middle of this week; previously it hadanticipated the outage would end Friday night (see Daily GPI, Jan. 5). The associated force majeure isaffecting deliveries into Florida Gas Transmission and Transco.

Pascagoula Plant Starts Second Train
BP Amoco announced the start-up of the second of two gasprocessing trains at the Pascagoula (MS) Gas Processing Plant. Theplant now has the capacity to process 1 Bcf/d, 500 MMcf/d in eachof its two trains. BP Amoco operates the plant and holds a 60%interest. Enterprise Products Partners LP of Houston holds theremaining 40%.

Mississippi Canyon Gas Pipeline last week won FERC’s blessingfor a firm capacity expansion to 800 MMcf/d from 600 MMcf/d.Mississippi Canyon — formerly Shell Gas Pipeline — operates a45-mile dual-phase line from the West Delta Block 143 “A” platformon the Outer Continental Shelf offshore Louisiana to terminus nearthe Venice Gas Plant in Plaquemines Parish onshore in Louisiana.The capacity increase is to come from establishing maximum receiptand delivery point pressures and installation of additionalmetering facilities on the pipeline’s existing system at the Veniceplant delivery point.

Mississippi Canyon Gas Pipeline won blessing in a draft orderfrom the FERC for firm capacity expansion from 600 MMcf/d to 800MMcf/d. Mississippi Canyon – formerly Shell Gas Pipeline -operates a 45-mile dual-phase line from the West Delta Block 143″A” platform on the Outer Continental Shelf offshore Louisiana toterminus near the Venice Gas Plant in Plaquemines Parish onshore inLouisiana. The capacity increase is to come from establishingmaximum receipt and delivery point pressures and installation ofadditional metering facilities on the pipeline’s existing system atthe Venice plant delivery point.
NorAm Buys IL Intrastate Pipe
NorAm Interstate Pipelines bought the intrastate Illini Pipelinefrom Houston-based Nuevo Energy Co. Illini Pipeline operates insouth central Illinois, serving customers in the East St. Louismetropolitan area. The line is about 70 miles long and has capacityup to 45,000 MMBtu/d. NorAm will continue to operate Illini as anintrastate system and expects to take over operation of the Illinisystem this summer.
