FERC OKs ANR Storage Expansion in Michigan

FERC has issued a certificate approving ANR Pipeline’s proposal to enhance the working gas capacity at the four natural gas storage reservoirs that the pipeline owns and operates in central and western Michigan. All told, the proposed changes will increase ANR’s firm storage capacity by 13 Bcf and its deliverability by 212 MMcf/d.

El Paso Buys Producing Assets in South TX for $255M

El Paso Corp.’s exploration and production subsidiary on Friday agreed to pay $255 million to acquire Laredo Energy III LP, which operates and is majority owner of some producing properties and undeveloped acreage in Zapata County, TX. The assets have current net production of 18 MMcfe/d, with estimated proved reserves of 84 Bcfe. About 73% of the proved reserves are undeveloped.

CNYOG Inks Deal to Buy Tennessee Lateral, Storage Facilities

Inergy, L.P.on Wednesday announced that its regulated subsidiary, Central New York Oil and Gas Company, LLC (CNYOG), inked a deal to purchase from Tennessee Gas Pipeline a 24-mile lateral pipeline connecting Inergy’s Stagecoach natural gas storage facility to Tennessee’s Line 300.

U.S. Portion of N. Baja Pipeline Operates at Loss, FERC Filing Indicates

In its nearly two years of operation the U.S. portion of North Baja Pipeline has lost money so far, principally because one of its early subscribers defaulted and the capacity hasn’t been re-sold. This information was revealed in a FERC filing by Gas Transmission Northwest (GTN), the national gas pipeline portion of the former PG&E Corp. merchant energy unit that is now undergoing Chapter 11 reorganization. GTN is in the process of being sold to TransCanada.

Kinder Morgan Forecasts 12% Earnings Increase in ’04

Kinder Morgan Inc. (KMI), which operates more than 35,000 miles of U.S. pipe and 80 storage terminals, expects 2004 earnings to be 12% higher than this year, while its master limited partnership, Kinder Morgan Energy Partners LP (KMP), should see growth of at least 8%, the company said Tuesday.
