Oklahoma-based Oneok Inc. is moving ahead with an expansion of its natural gas processing plant in North Dakota’s Bakken Shale.

Oneok Inc.’s Stateline natural gas processing plant in Williams County, ND, has resumed full operations following a fire on July 8 that was confined to a single utility building. Fire erupted in the building tied to a 26,000 b/d de-ethanizer plant adjacent to the 200 MMcf/d processing plant. There were no reported injuries; the fire is under investigation. Stateline has been serving Bakken Shale operators since 2013.

The North Dakota Public Service Commission (PSC) has given its approval to an application for one natural gas liquids (NGL) pipeline and set a hearing to debate another later this month.

Oneok Inc. said it plans to spend $1.4 billion to build a natural gas liquids (NGL) pipeline stretching 900 miles from the Rocky Mountains to its existing Midcontinent facilities, and may soon announce other projects as part of its $3-3.5 billion capital growth plans.

West Texas LPG Pipeline LP, a joint venture between Oneok and Martin Midstream Partners LP, said it plans to invest about $200 million to expand its natural gas liquids (NGL) system into the Delaware Basin.

Oneok Inc. said it plans to acquire all of the outstanding common units of its master limited partnership (MLP), Oneok Partners LP, in an all-stock deal valued at $9.3 billion.

Unseasonably warm and windy conditions in the Bakken Shale in North Dakota sparked two grass fires on Sunday in McKenzie County, a top oil producing area, including one near a Oneok Partnersnatural gas compressor station southeast of Keene. A Oneok spokesperson told NGI’s Shale Dailythe company is investigating the fire’s cause, which consumed about 900 acres before being brought under control. The incident had no impact on operations. Another fire reportedly resulted from target shooting, authorities said.

As it looks to reduce its credit risk in 2016, Oneok Partners LP is looking ahead to growth opportunities presented by the ethane volumes on its system currently being rejected due to low demand.

Tulsa-based Oneok Partners LP is planning to start up a new natural gas processing plant late this month in the heart of the Bakken Shale play in McKenzie County, ND, and that is just the beginning of a series of infrastructure additions slated for the area by the end of next year.
