D&L Energy Appeals Shutdown of Injection Wells

D&L Energy Inc. has filed an appeal with the Ohio Oil and Gas Commission, asking it to overturn the Ohio Department of Natural Resources’ (ODNR) decision to revoke six of the company’s permits, deny three permit applications and order a halt to all temporary storage operations near Youngstown, after oilfield waste was illegally dumped into waterways near Youngstown in late January.

Sabine Lifts Force Majeure on Various Interconnects; Nymex Follows Suit

After being offline since Sept. 22 due to storm damage and flooding from Hurricane Rita, Sabine Pipe Line LLC said it has lifted the force majeure for various interconnects on its system (see Daily GPI, Sept. 27). As a result, the New York Mercantile Exchange (Nymex) said Tuesday it is lifting the force majeure condition for both September and October 2005 natural gas futures contract delivery obligations, effective for gas day Oct. 5 (see Daily GPI, Sept. 28).

FirstEnergy: Pressure Test at 935 MW Offline Nuke Meets Objectives

Marking another step in the long journey to get the shuttered 935 MW Davis Besse nuclear power plant back online, FirstEnergy Nuclear Operating Co. (FENOC) officials last week said that a recent pressure test at the plant fully met all of its objectives, including validation of the integrity of the bottom of the plant’s reactor vessel and of the reactor coolant system.
