Penn Virginia Corp. said Tuesday it has agreed to explore a portion of the Eagle Ford Shale of South Texas with an undisclosed “major oil and gas company.”

Rosetta Resources Inc. will be dropping more than 90% of its $640 million 2012 capital budget in the Eagle Ford Shale of South Texas, the Houston-based company said Monday.

Aux Sable Midstream (ASM) plans to build a natural gas liquid (NGL) truck unloading facility at its Palermo Conditioning Plant in Palermo, ND to serve growing production of NGL-rich gas from the Bakken Shale.

The Barnett Shale and Horn River Basin lifted Fort Worth-based Quicksilver Resources Inc. to a quarterly production record during the third quarter while the company continued to chip away at its substantial debt.

Crosstex NGL Pipeline LP is holding a binding open season through Oct. 14 for capacity on a new natural gas liquids (NGL) pipeline system (the Crosstex NGL Pipeline) to transport unfractionated NGLs produced in the Permian Basin, Midcontinent, Barnett Shale, Eagle Ford Shale and Rocky Mountain areas from the Mont Belvieu, TX, area to NGL fractionation facilities in Eunice and Riverside, LA. Crosstex Energy LP and Crosstex Energy Inc. plan to construct the common carrier pipeline with a preliminary design capacity of at least 70,000 b/d to Eunice, with a lesser amount of capacity available to Riverside (see Shale Daily, July 27). Targa Resources Partners LP has made an anchor commitment to DCP Midstream LLC’s Sandhills Pipeline, DCP said Monday. The long-term agreements provide for an interconnection of Sandhills to a new delivery point with Targa’s Cedar Bayou Fractionators LP facility at Mont Belvieu, TX.

The Eagle Ford Shale in South Texas is “primed for growth,” thanks to a substantial foundation of gathering, transmission, processing and fractionation infrastructure in place, Bentek Energy LLC said in a new report. And more projects are under way or in the works over the next few years.

ONEOK Partners plans to invest another $260-305 million between now and the end of 2014 for new projects in the Bakken Shale in the Williston Basin, with most of the money earmarked for natural gas midstream projects.

Targa Resources Partners has signed a nonbinding memorandum of understanding (MOU) for development of a pipeline to transport y-grade natural gas liquids (NGL) from processing facilities in the Eagle Ford Shale to Mont Belvieu, TX, and a new fractionation train at the Targa-operated Cedar Bayou fractionation facility (CBF).
