MA Governor Gives Thumbs-Up to 2 Offshore LNG Terminals

The decision by Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney on Tuesday to approve the proposed Northeast Gateway and Neptune offshore liquefied natural gas (LNG) import terminals represents the last major hurdle for the two projects, which could become the first new LNG import terminals along the East Coast of the United States to successfully navigate through the challenging regulatory and political process.

MA Governor Orders Security Review of State’s LNG Storage Sites

In the wake of a security breach at a KeySpan Corp. liquefied natural gas (LNG) storage site earlier this month, Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney has called on state regulators and public safety officials to carry out a security review of all the state’s LNG storage facilities. There are a total of 20 LNG storage sites in Massachusetts, of which seven are owned by KeySpan, a company spokeswoman said.
