FERC last week vacated its August order certificating El PasoNatural Gas Co.’s planned expansion of its 33-mile Bondad system, amove that the pipeline says puts the troubled project in anuncertain status.

The Coastal Corp.’s Wyoming Interstate Co. (WIC) filed anapplication with the FERC for construction of the Medicine BowLateral, a new 134-mile, 24-inch diameter gas pipeline designed toprovide transportation access to the developing Powder River Basinin Wyoming and Montana. Medicine Bow will receive Powder Rivercoal-bed methane gas from pipelines near Glenrock, WY, andtransport it to WIC’s mainline, west of Cheyenne, WY.

Viking Gas Transmission last week proposed plans for a 45-mile,28 MMcf/d looping of its existing system in northwestern andcentral Minnesota in 1999. This is “a smaller project matched tomeet incremental market demand,” said Viking Gas President GregoryH.
