Brownell Joins FERC to Complete Commission

Former Pennsylvania regulator Nora Mead Brownell was sworn in as a FERC commissioner last Tuesday, filling out the ranks of the five-member federal agency. Brownell attended Wednesday’s regular open FERC meeting, but did not vote.

Former Pennsylvania regulator Nora Mead Brownell was sworn in as a FERC commissioner yesterday, filling out the ranks of the five-member federal agency. Brownell will be attending today’s regular open FERC meeting, although she has said she will not be voting.

Brownell, Wood Nominations Sail Through Senate

The Senate approved the nominations of Texas regulator Patrick Henry Wood III and Pennsylvania regulator Nora Mead Brownell to the two vacant spots on the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. In interviews with NGI on Friday Brownell and Wood said they are eager to get to work tackling the energy crisis out West and helping the rest of the country do some advance planning to prevent the crisis from spreading.

FERC Nominees Get Warm but Serious Welcome by Senators

The two nominees to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, Nora Mead Brownell and Pat Henry Wood III, received a relatively warm but serious welcome by the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee last week, during a hearing on their nominations. A committee staff member said a positive vote on the nominees was likely at the regularly scheduled business meeting this Wednesday.
