Chevron Corp.’s Chevron Australia Pty. Ltd. announced an additional gas discovery in the Carnarvon Basin offshore Western Australia.

Tennessee said Wednesday afternoon it had identified a leak on the Fidelity Line 8A-300 lateral located at Main Line Valve 8 near Victoria, TX. Two meters were required to shut in until further notice, the pipeline said. It added that shipper nominations there were allowed to remain in place for Wednesday’s gas day but must be reduced to zero effecitve with Evening Cycle nominations for Thursday.

Chestnut Ridge Storage received authorization from FERC Monday for its 25 Bcf working capacity Junction Natural Gas Storage Project to be located in a depleted gas field in Fayette County, PA and Monongalia and Preston counties, WV.

Columbia Gas said it was investigating a leak on Line AM-130 located near the Middle Fork stream crossing. “Due to this emergency, firm receipts will have to be shut in” starting Thursday morning, the pipeline said, estimating that the outage will last two to seven days. The outage is near the Poca River in the vicinity of Charleston, WV. All production behind Walgrove and north of the Poca River will be shut in, affecting three firm production meters, Columbia said.

In a measure taken to help it move out of insolvency, Canadian Superior Energy Inc. said Tuesday it has agreed to unload a 45% interest in gas development Block 5(c), located off the southeast coast of Trinidad, to Centrica plc for US$142.5 million in cash. Centrica said the gas — processed into liquefied natural gas (LNG) — could supply its customers in the UK, with additional optionality provided by Centrica’s North American customer base and the opportunity to sell into other Atlantic Basin markets.

CIG said various operating conditions related to gas loading factors in its Segment 118, located in the Oklahoma Panhandle, have caused variations in pressure that affect the pressure needed to deliver gas to the east end delivery points of Segment 118. “To assist in controlling these varying pressure levels, CIG will establish a new constraint point: Beaver East (BEC) between Beaver…and Floris (FRS),” the pipeline said. The operationally available capacity at this point will be 210 MMcf/d beginning Thursday. The new BEC constraint point will limit deliveries to FRS, Forgan, Mocane and Mid-America, CIG said, but it will not affect firm primary nominations.
