El Paso E&P Chief: ‘No Intention’ to Shut-in Production

El Paso Corp. Production Company President Lisa Stewart said Thursday she has seen “no indication that we’ve got to shut-in production anywhere,” despite lower natural gas prices. El Paso’s $5.50/MMBtu “plan price” for natural gas provides “sustainability through the cycles,” she told investors and analysts at the Wachovia Securities Equity Conference.

El Paso Corp. has appointed Lisa A. Stewart, an Apache Corp. veteran, as president, Production and Non-regulated Operations. Stewart will oversee all of the Houston-based company’s production, midstream, power, marketing and petroleum businesses. Stewart, who will assume her position on Feb. 1, 2004, is currently executive vice president, Business Development and E&P Services for Apache Corp. Stewart earned a degree in petroleum engineering from the University of Tulsa in 1981 and went to work for Cities Service Co. Since 1984 she has worked for Apache and has steadily progressed through various management positions. In her current role, she is responsible for strategic business activities, including acquisitions.

Illinois Attorney General Says Nicor Owes Customers $160 Million

Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan on Friday called for Nicor Gas to refund customers at least $160 million for overcharges in 2000, 2001 and part of 2002 through Nicor’s purchased gas adjustment (PBR) mechanism.

Rivals for Alaska U.S. Senate Seat Square Off Over ANWR

Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) asked former Alaska Gov. Tony Knowles, a rival for her Senate seat in 2004, to put his money where his mouth is and come to Capitol Hill to lobby Senate Democrats to vote in favor of opening the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. He publicly has claimed he could drum up enough votes from Democrats to break the logjam over the controversial issue.
