Just days after Williams reached the finish line on its Atlantic Sunrise project, Transcontinental Gas Pipe Line Co. (Transco) has secured 15-year commitments for 100% of the proposed Leidy South expansion, another Marcellus and Utica shale takeaway project designed to serve East Coast markets.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit has turned away a lawsuit filed by the Delaware Riverkeeper Network (DRN) to block FERC’s December 2014 approval of the Transcontinental Gas Pipe Line (Transco) Leidy Southeast expansion.

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission has granted Dominion Transmission Inc.’s (DTI) Nov. 29request for authorization to place into service the Stonewall Metering and Regulating Station in Loudoun County, VA, a part of DTI’s Leidy South Project [CP15-492]. A supplemental request to commence service for the remaining Leidy South Project facilities is required, according to FERC. Leidy South would serve new and existing power generation facilities with natural gas traveling from the Leidy Interconnect in Clinton, PA, to points in Loudoun County. Panda Stonewall LLC, Virginia Power Services Energy Corp. Inc. and Mattawoman Energy LLC have signed binding agreements for all of the project capacity. The estimated cost is $209.66 million. DTI filed its application for the project with the Commission in 2015, received a favorable environmental assessment from staff in March and approval in late August.

The rupture that knocked out full-service on a part of Williams’ Leidy Line in Northeast Pennsylvania in June 2015 was caused by corrosion, according to a report from the U.S. Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA).

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit this week ruled that New Jersey and Pennsylvania regulators did not “act arbitrarily or capriciously” in issuing water quality permits and related authorizations for Transcontinental Gas Pipe Line Co. LLC’s (Transco) Leidy Southeast Expansion Project.

Three new interstate natural gas pipeline projects were placed into service in the month of November, two more picked up certification and six additional proposed projects were filed, according to FERC’s monthly Energy Infrastructure Update published by the Office of Energy Projects.
