Calpine Corp. reported on Friday that it has named Lawrence L. Izzo senior vice president. The company said Izzo will be responsible for technical support and construction of Calpine’s major natural gas pipelines and other gas infrastructure projects, international power projects and coal gasification projects. Izzo recently retired as president and CEO of Enron Engineering and Construction Company (EECC) and its subsidiary, National Energy Production Company (NEPCO). He was responsible for managing Enron’s worldwide engineering and construction operations. During his 11-year career there, Izzo was credited with creating and growing EECC and NEPCO to a 1,000-member international organization, completing many major power projects in domestic and international power markets.
