Transco alerted shippers that some production possibly could beinterrupted today on the Southeast Louisiana Lateral. The U.S. ArmyCorps of Engineers is expected to take about eight hours tocomplete matting of the western bank of the Mississippi River.Transco said it will make every operational effort to keep thiswork from impacting production, but curtailments are possible ifunforeseen events lengthen the operation.

Paiute Project Challenged Under New Pricing Policy

A proposed expansion/replacement of Paiute Pipeline’s CarsonLateral last week became the first project to be challenged underthe FERC’s new policy statement, which requires new pipelineconstruction to be priced incrementally.

Transportation Notes

During Sept. 7-11 maintenance on its Topock (AZ) Lateral andrelated facilities, Transwestern expects no flows to either SoCalGas or PG&E at their Topock interconnects. However, thepipeline said it is investigating “limited alternative deliveryarrangements” for the two points. It will be able to schedule up to300,000 MMBtu/d at Mojave Pipeline’s Topock interconnect.

Tennessee said Monday rehab work on the Sun Lateral in westernLouisiana will be completed ahead of schedule and it will resumetaking nominations at all Sun meters for Wednesday’s gas day. Thepipeline had earlier projected that the project would extend untilJuly 9 (see Daily GPI, June 22).

The failure of a 7,000-horsepower motor has crippledTranswestern’s Bloomfield Compressor Station on the San JuanLateral, curtailing an estimated 100,000 MMbtu/d at 20 points. Thepipeline expects motor repairs to last until July 7.

NOVA estimated that repairs to a flange assembly leak on its NorthLateral (see Daily GPI, May 17), whichstarted Wednesday, would take 24-36 hours to complete. Some receiptsupstream of Dusty Lake Compressor Station are being curtailed by thework.
