NOVA said a leak discovered in a flange assembly early Thursdayon its North Lateral in eastern Alberta is curtailing up to 500MMcf/d of upstream production. The line usually flows 1.6-1.7Bcf/d, a spokesman said. He estimated the leak will require 24-48hours of repair time, but no schedule has been set.

Maintenance on parts of Columbia Gulf’s East Lateral system(Paradis Line) will begin Saturday, two days earlier thanpreviously announced. Originally scheduled to begin May 10 (seeDaily GPI, April 19), the work will take three to 10 days tocomplete and require about 65,000 dth/d to be shut in at 11measurement stations.

Capacity on Transwestern’s San Juan Lateral between Ignacio, COand Blanco, NM will be limited to about 525 MMcf/d during a one-dayemergency shutdown test and maintenance outage May 11 at BloomfieldCompressor Station. Normal capacity of about 800 MMcf/d will resumeMay 12. Transwestern suggested the Blanco and Window Rock points onEl Paso to shippers as alternate options for gas flow out of SanJuan during the Bloomfield outage.

Northwest Pipeline experienced a leak Tuesday afternoon on itsVancouver (WA) Lateral. There were no injuries. Preliminaryinvestigation indicates third-party damage, the pipeline said.Service was disrupted to direct industrial customer Vanalco and toindustrial customers of LDC Northwest Natural Gas in the area untilbeing restored at 11:24 p.m. PST Tuesday.

WIC Targets Coal-bed Gas With Medicine Bow

The Coastal Corp.’s Wyoming Interstate Co. (WIC) filed anapplication with the FERC for construction of the Medicine BowLateral, a new 134-mile, 24-inch diameter gas pipeline designed toprovide transportation access to the developing Powder River Basinin Wyoming and Montana. Medicine Bow will receive Powder Rivercoal-bed methane gas from pipelines near Glenrock, WY, andtransport it to WIC’s mainline, west of Cheyenne, WY.
