ANR said the start of horsepower maintenance at its St. John (IN)Compressor Station, which had been scheduled for today (see Daily GPI,Oct. 25) has been delayed untilNov. 2. However, it is still projecting completion of the work forNov. 22. There is still an associated capacity reduction of 100,000Dth/d, ANR said, but it also still thinks nomination cuts may beminimized or eliminated by cooler market area weather.

Reps. James L. Oberstar (D-MN), John D. Dingell (D-MI) and David R. Obey (D-WI) sent letters to President Clinton and House Democratic Minority Leader Richard A. Gephardt last week urging rejection of an effort to include the Senate’s pipeline safety bill (S. 2438) as a rider to an appropriations bill or other “must-pass” legislation.

GRI and IGT Form GTI

GRI and the Institute of Gas Technology (IGT) named theirrecently merged organizations the Gas Technology Institute (GTI)last week and formed a senior management team led by John F.Riordan, president and CEO. The research groups announced theirmerger in April, saying it was mainly an effort to reduceoverlapping dues paid by their members and to combine the variousstrengths of the two entities.

Duke Energy Gas Transmission has named Tom O’Connor, TheopolisHoleman, Dorothy Ables and Richard Kruse to new positions as seniorvice presidents. This new market-oriented executive team willreport to Robert B. Evans, president of Duke Energy GasTransmission, and will be responsible for the management of DukeEnergy’s interstate natural gas pipelines.
