Colorado City Calls ‘Time Out’ on Fracking

Commerce City, CO, has invoked a 30-day “time out” on hydraulic fracturing (fracking) to give city officials time to further discuss their concerns with the oil and gas industry. City officials took the action late Monday in lieu of a proposed six-month ban on fracking.

Senate to Cast Final Vote on Stimulus Package Tuesday

As President Obama called on Congress to act quickly on the economic stimulus bill, the Senate Monday invoked cloture on a slimmed-down, bipartisan substitute amendment to the recovery bill that seeks to jump-start a green economy, including provisions to promote greater production of renewable fuels, new power transmission facilities and increased energy efficiency and conservation.

‘Deja Vu Again’: Flat, With a Slightly Softer Edge

A Houston marketer invoked the wisdom of baseball great YogiBerra to describe Tuesday’s cash market: “It’s deja vu all overagain.” In other words, it was like most of February’s previoustrading activity-generally flat with tight ranges. However, thoughthere was little if any change at any point, whatever changes didoccur were slightly to the downside. They were limited to 1-3 centsin all cases.
