PG&E to Partner with El Paso on Ruby Pipeline

PG&E Corp. has signed a letter of intent to acquire a 25.5% interest in El Paso Corp.’s Ruby pipeline project, the two companies said. The line would extend 680 miles from the Opal Hub in Wyoming to the Malin, OR, interconnect near California’s northern border.

Dejour Enterprises Ltd. of Vancouver, BC, signed a letter of intent to purchase certain proven producing and undeveloped reserves, approximately 2,100 acres of associated land, data and wells in Liberty County, TX, effective Aug. 1, 2007 for US$3.5 million cash with minor gas balancing adjustments, the company said. The purchase includes four wells; two wells currently producing gas with associated condensate in excess of 12 MMcf of natural gas combined, one new well currently being placed on line with similar pressures and one standing cased well; all drilled to approximately 12,000 feet. Working interests range from 11.38% to 15.9%. LaRoche Consultants of Dallas, on behalf of Dejour Energy USA Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Dejour, is providing independent engineering reports assigning NI 51-101 compliant gross proven reserves associated with this purchase of 9.3 Bcf and 130,000 bbl of condensate based on the New York Mercantile Exchange strip case. Production from this field is expected to be enhanced when the new well is placed on stream. Dejour anticipates additional wells to be drilled in the future. Dejour said it expects to close the transaction on or before Sept. 14, assuming no due diligence issues. The purchase will be funded from cash on hand.

Vancouver-Based Producer Buying Texas Reserves

Dejour Enterprises Ltd. of Vancouver, BC, signed a letter of intent to purchase certain proven producing and undeveloped reserves, approximately 2,100 acres of associated land, data and wells in Liberty County, TX, effective Aug. 1, 2007 for US$3.5 million cash with minor gas balancing adjustments, the company said Friday.

ConfirmHub LLC said last week that Nymex Holdings Inc., parent company of the New York Mercantile Exchange Inc. (Nymex), has signed a letter of intent to join Amerex, GFI Group, ICAP Energy, Tullett & Prebon Energy, TFS Energy and Spectron in support of the ConfirmHub standard, which is the industry effort to provide standardized format delivery of confirmations via a single secure interface.

CMS Selling Nonutility Michigan Assets, Argentine Plants for $180M

CMS Energy said Thursday that it signed a binding letter of intent to sell a portfolio of its businesses in Argentina and its northern Michigan nonutility natural gas assets for $180 million to Michigan-based Lucid Energy, whose financial partners include Sociedad Argentina de Energia. The sale, which is subject to execution of a final agreement, is expected to close in the first half of 2007. Proceeds will be used to reduce debt and invest in CMS utility Consumers Energy.

Idaho PUC Approves Avista Corporate Reorganization

Agreeing with the intent of lowering financial risk and raising credit ratings, the Idaho Public Utilities Commission Wednesday approved Avista Corp.’s proposal to reorganize, creating a still-to-be-renamed holding company for Avista Utilities, which serves electricity and natural gas customers in northern Idaho. The PUC noted that last year’s repeal of the federal Public Utility Holding Company Act (PUHCA) allows multi-state utilities like Avista to form holding companies.
