The number of players competing for natural gas storage assets is diverse and growing, and when new infrastructure is for sale, “at least a half dozen players” likely will be ready — and able — to bid, ensuring asset values will continue to rise, industry experts said Thursday.

Tennessee Gas Pipeline (TGP), a subsidiary of El Paso Corp., has placed its Northeast ConneXion NY/NJ Expansion project into service. The new infrastructure includes two 30-inch diameter pipeline loops, additional compression, and storage deliverability upgrades that will help meet growing demand in the New York and New Jersey areas.
