ICE Conforms Ahead of Dodd-Frank Deadline

Coming in under the implementation deadline of Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act rules, IntercontinentalExchange (ICE), announced Friday that ICE Trust U.S., ICE’s North American credit default swap (CDS) clearing house, would have completed its transition to a Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC)-regulated Derivatives Clearing Organization (DCO) and Securities and Exchange (SEC)-regulated Securities Clearing Agency (SCA) by Saturday, July 16 (see related story).

Although still “on track” to begin next year, it has been put off until 2013, the regulator responsible for implementing the 2006 climate change law (AB32) told a state Senate committee last Wednesday.

CFTC Postpones Derivative Rules for Six Months

Idaho Regulators OK Intermountain Gas Plan

Pennsylvania Wastewater Rules Clear Senate Review

In a decision that effectively clears the way for the implementation of tougher wastewater regulations for natural gas drilling operations in Pennsylvania’s prolific Marcellus Shale area, the state’s Senate Environmental Resources and Energy Committee has indicated that it does not intend to take any formal action on the regulations, according to committee chairperson Mary Jo White (R-21st).
