Anadarko Petroleum Corp. reported a 38% hike in quarterly income Friday, with stronger-than-expected gains in oil and natural gas sales. Net income rose to $405 million ($1.64/share), up from $294 million ($1.17) in 4Q2003.

Vectren Corp. said it reached a settlement agreement with several parties in Indiana that will allow the company to request a $24 million increase in Vectren North’s (formerly Indiana Gas Co.) base gas distribution rates, which is about half of what the utility originally planned to request.

Dominion on Tuesday reported that the utility’s operating earnings for the second quarter of 2004 came in at $267 million, or 81 cents per share, beating the consensus analysts’ estimate carried on Wall Street by a penny, but lower than operating earnings of $271 million, or 86 cents per share, for the same period in 2003.

CenterPoint Energy Minnegasco, Minnesota’s largest natural gas distribution company, on Wednesday filed a request with the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission (MPUC) to increase its residential rates on average 4.1%.

FERC Accepts, Suspends Kern River Rate Increase Subject to Hearing Results

FERC has accepted and suspended for five months a $40.1 million rate hike on Kern River Gas Transmission subject to the result of a hearing. The Commission said the new cost-of-service rates, which total $347.4 million, will be effective on Nov. 1 and in part on June 1, 2005. It denied Kern’s request for fast-track processing of its application.
