Williams Grows Reserves 26% With MCN Purchase

Williams’ exploration and production division increased the sizeof its gas reserve holdings by nearly 30% last week, buying 184Bcfe of proved reserves with 30 MMcf/d of production and 192,000undeveloped acres in the Rocky Mountain region from MCN Energy for$106 million. An additional 35 Bcfe of proved reserves in theRockies were sold by MCN to other unnamed buyers.

Survey: Interest Grows In Bundled Services

Consumers are becoming more interested in buying energy,communications and other services in one-stop package deals, arecent national survey has found. However, customers expect any”bundled” products and services to be offered at a discount of atleast 5%, according to the survey. In fact, interest in specificpackages increases in direct proportion to the depth of thediscount. Overall, customers assume that combining products andservices in a package over a single brand will add value and createeconomies of scale

Dynegy Grows Louisiana Assets with New NGL Plant

Dynegy opened a new $57 million gas liquids fractionationfacility near Lake Charles, LA, that can separate up to 55,000barrels/d of gas liquids into ethane, propane and a butane andnatural gasoline mix. The facility is fed primarily from offshoreproduction in the Gulf of Mexico via pipeline and truck throughDynegy’s Hackberry terminal. Its products are primarily shippedthrough pipeline to customers in the petrochemical/refiningindustry in Lake Charles.
