Anadarko Puts For Sale Sign on 155 Producing Wells in Rockies

Anadarko Petroleum Corp. (APC) wants to sell its stakes in 155 producing wells on about 100,000 gross acres in the Washakie Basin of Wyoming and the Sand Wash Basin of Colorado. Total production for the fields, which are 96% weighted to natural gas, averaged 39.4 MMcfe/d net in the first seven months of the year, which is equal to nearly 5% of APC’s daily gas production in the Rockies in 2Q2007.

Pioneer Ramps up New Gas Field in Northern AB

A new natural gas field in northern Alberta is producing at a gross rate of 18 MMcf/d from three wells, and within the next week, output is expected to reach a sustainable rate of 24 MMcf/d, according to leaseholder Pioneer Natural Resources Co.

Shell’s Mars Platform Producing 20% over Pre-Katrina Rates

Shell Exploration & Production Co. said last week that the Mars Tension Leg Platform (TLP) is currently producing 190,000 boe/d (gross), which is a 20% increase over pre-Katrina rates. As announced in late May, the Mars TLP resumed production ahead of schedule earlier this summer and was even producing slightly above its pre-Katrina rates in July (see NGI, May 29).
