Jackson Prairie Storage Facelift Gets Green Light from FERC

FERC last week gave conditional approval to a major expansionand upgrade of Jackson Prairie Storage that would add 3.2 Bcf ofworking gas capacity and would boost the firm deliverability rateof the Pacific Northwest storage facility by 300 MMcf/d, both ofwhich would heighten its peak-shaving capabilities.

FERC last week gave the green light for ANR Pipeline to moveahead with construction of its Wisconsin Loop Expansion Project,which would provide about 116 MMcf/d of additional capacity toLDCs, marketers and power generators in the state. This puts ANRout in front of competing projects that also intend to vie for themarket.

OK Governor Gives Green Light to Unbundling

A road block to retail competition in Oklahoma was smashed lastweek when Oklahoma Governor Frank Keating vetoed Senate bill 565, alast-minute attempt to derail gas unbundling in the state. The billwould have pushed back the effective date for unbundling untilOctober 2001 and erased the final rules completed by the OklahomaCorporation Commission in April and approved by the legislature andthe governor.

Amoco Swaps WY Properties With Snyder

Amoco Corp. and Snyder Oil Corp. traded interests in Wyomingproperties to help each company focus its gas operations in theGreen River Basin. Amoco acquired Snyder’s interest in asubstantial portion of the Jonah field in Sublette and Sweetwatercounties. In exchange, Amoco gave Snyder 75% of its interest in theBeaver Creek Unit in Fremont County, WY. Amoco retained 25%interest in Beaver Creek. The deal involved property only.
