Parsley Grabbing More West Texas Leasehold in $400M Deal
West Texas-focused Parsley Energy Inc. continued its Permian Basin spending spree on Monday, agreeing to pay $400 million for a bolt-on leasehold in the Midland sub-basin.

Crosstex Energy LP plans to build a natural gas processing complex and rich gas gathering system to serve the Permian Basin. The initial investment of $140 million would include treating, processing and gas takeaway solutions for regional producers. The Bearkat project is to be fully owned by the partnership and is supported by long-term, fee-based contracts, Crosstex said. The complex would be near the partnership’s existing Deadwood joint venture assets in Glasscock County, TX, with an initial capacity of 60 MMcf/d, increasing the partnership’s total operated processing capacity in the Permian to 115 MMcf/d. The partnership also is building a 30-mile high-pressure gathering system upstream of Bearkat to serve Glasscock and Reagan counties. The entire project is scheduled to be operational in summer 2014.

NuDevco Midstream Development LLC(NMD), sponsor ofMarlin Midstream Partners LP, has agreed to buy a 28-acre industrial site near Albuquerque, NM, for an undisclosed price. The site includes rail access and room for crude oil storage tanks and multiple transloaders. Located in Bernalillo County, the site targets the San Juan Basin. NMD owns eight transloaders ready to be deployed. It is expected that once fully developed and commercially viable, the transloading and storage facilities will eventually be available to be dropped down to Marlin. “San Juan is an underserved crude oil region with tremendous demand for value-added midstream services, especially crude transloading and storage services,” said NMD CEO Keith Maxwell. The transaction is expected to close during the fourth quarter of 2013.

Natural gas production from the Marcellus and Utica shales should double over the next five years, surpassing Rockies output levels from 2012 and accounting for “over a quarter of U.S. Lower 48 gas production,” Wood Mackenzie upstream analysts are forecasting.
New Processing Plant Slated for Permian Basin
DCP Midstream LLC plans to build a 75 MMcf/d gas processing plant in Glasscock County, TX, and an associated low-pressure gathering system to service producers focused on the Wolfberry play in the Permian Basin of West Texas.
