Newfield Exploration Co.’s Midcontinent operations, which cut across a generous swath of the Woodford Shale from Oklahoma into the Texas Panhandle, reached “new highs” in 3Q2009, with production jumping almost a third from a year ago, the Houston-based independent said last week.

Senators Ask Bush to be Generous in Budget Request for Oil and Gas R&D
Five senators joined Sen. Jeff Bingaman (D-NM) last Tuesday in asking the White House to increase, rather than reduce, the funding for domestic oil and natural gas research and development (R&D) in its upcoming fiscal year 2006 budget request. They also urged the Bush administration not to cut funding for the Bureau of Land Management’s (BLM) onshore oil and gas management activities.

With Record 4Q Earnings, KMI, KMP Expected Continued Growth in ’02
Driven by record 52% growth in 2001 — with generous support from its general partner — Kinder Morgan Inc. (KMI) reported Thursday it expects to have 10-15% growth through the year. Earnings were driven “significantly” by KMI’s ownership of the general partner of Kinder Morgan Energy Partners LP (KMP), which saw its earnings grow 59% from a year earlier.
