Transwestern reported experiencing an unspecified force majeure event around midday Wednesday at the Gallup (NM) Compressor Station. A unit is down and teams are evaluating the situation, the pipeline said. As a precautionary measure, Transwestern began allocating approximately 81,000 MMBtu/d of receipt volumes on the San Juan Lateral (cutting lateral capacity to 800,000 MMBtu/d) for Wednesday’s gas day and until further notice. See the bulletin board for a list of affected pointed.
Transportation Notes
Because the Gallup Electric Compressor Station will not be available for the April 11 gas day, Transwestern will allocate the San Juan Lateral to about 700,000 MMBtu/d. The Blanco-Thoreau segment of the lateral had been expected to be up to 800,000 MMBtu/d of capacity by now following a five-day total outage earlier this month (see Daily GPI, March 28), but compressor problems have been causing daily allocations. Northwest cautioned shippers that Transwestern’s allocations “could still cause back-ups on Northwest.”

El Paso said it was completing installation of pigging facilities on Line 1200 between Gallup Station and Valve City Wednesday. Work on the segment between Valve City and Window Rock Station is still in progress, but should be completed Saturday as originally scheduled. As a result San Juan Basin capacity was increased by 100 MMcf/d effective with Thursday’s Cycle 1 nominations. A capacity reduction of 135 MMcf/d on the North Mainline was to continue as scheduled through Friday. The pipeline also said Bowie Station turbine repairs have been more extensive than anticipated, a 50 MMcf/d capacity cut on the South Mainline at Waha will be extended through Aug. 31.
