Associations: SEACOR Proposal Is Win-Win for States, Federal Government and Consumers

A congressional proposal that would give states control of drilling activity off their coastlines is a “unique solution” that would address the concerns of states that frown on offshore drilling, and would bolster natural gas supply, shave gas prices and put more revenues in state and federal coffers, five trade associations said in a letter Tuesday to several U.S. senators.

LDCs, Intrastate Pipes Frown on Proposed Reporting of Daily Storage Data

Most natural gas distributors and intrastate gas pipelines said they would be opposed to any FERC requirement calling for owners and operators of gas storage facilities to electronically post their storage inventory levels from the prior day. They contend that the public disclosure of their storage data on a daily basis would leave them and their customers vulnerable to higher prices.

Pipes Frown over Re-Inspection Change in House Pipe Safety Bill

The House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee approved pipeline safety legislation last week that significantly differs from the bill that emerged from subcommittee earlier this month.
