A landmark deal between several Louisiana parishes and energy conglomerate Freeport McMoRan Inc. may pave the way for more operators to settle a bevy of coastal erosion lawsuits as the state grapples with the loss of land linked in part to oil and gas development.

Houston, often called the energy capital of the world, served as a fitting backdrop for Cheniere Energy Inc. to announce a long-term deal to tap Permian Basin natural gas for a planned expansion at its Corpus Christi liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal. Freeport LNG signed a deal of its own with Redwood Markets Inc., launching an online storefront to sell cargoes ahead of the peak winter season.

The liquefied natural gas (LNG) export project in service on Quintana Island in Texas by Freeport LNG on Monday said it has secured all of the funding needed to add a fourth train.

After a recent mechanical issue, the Freeport liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal on Quintana Island off the upper Texas coast now expects to ship its first export cargo late this month, the company said Friday.

A week of storms that left demand rather limited across the country did little to spark volatility in natural gas forward markets. Prices throughout the curve swung only a few pennies in either direction at the majority of market hubs as temperatures remained rather mild ahead of a coming heat wave that intensified in the latest outlooks, according to NGI’s Forward Look.
