The offshore Destin Pipeline shut in about 600 MMcf/d of gasthat was flowing on its system Sunday but is expected to resumeflows sometime today pending repairs to a liquids pipelinedownstream of the Pascagoula gas processing plant.

Maritimes Gas Flows Today

Gas will start flowing today from Nova Scotia to New Englandthrough the new Maritimes & Northeast Pipeline after theNational Energy Board (NEB) conditionally OK’d the start ofCanadian operations late yesterday. Meanwhile, consultationscontinue between Maritimes management and the Union of Nova ScotiaIndians (UNSI), which had sought to block the project.

Transportation Notes

During Sept. 7-11 maintenance on its Topock (AZ) Lateral andrelated facilities, Transwestern expects no flows to either SoCalGas or PG&E at their Topock interconnects. However, thepipeline said it is investigating “limited alternative deliveryarrangements” for the two points. It will be able to schedule up to300,000 MMBtu/d at Mojave Pipeline’s Topock interconnect.

PanCanadian Gulf Find Similar to Auger

PanCanadian Petroleum subsidiary PanCanadian Gulf of MexicoInc., made a deep-water oil and gas discovery in the Gulf of Mexicothat it likened to Shell’s prolific Auger Field. The Llanodiscovery well, in Garden Banks Block 386 about 137 miles offshoreLouisiana, drilled to a record depth for the Gulf of 27,864 feet.The sands at Llano correlate closely to similar sands encounteredby Shell Deepwater Development in the Auger Field, less than 15miles to the southwest, containing a reported 220 million barrelsof oil equivalent reserves. Auger has reported reserves of 220million Boe with approximate production of 100,000 barrels of oiland 300 MMcf of gas per day.
