While the rest of the swing market began February flows atprices only moderately up or down from last-of-January levels innearly all cases, California numbers spiked in triple-digit amountsWednesday.

Less than two weeks after the deadly explosion on El PasoNatural Gas’ system in southeastern New Mexico, the pipeline lastweek had more than 700 MMcf/d of its 1.1 Bcf/d capacity restored toits South Mainline that services markets between Texas andCalifornia.

Transwestern said its Crawford Lateral will be down for plannedmaintenance Tuesday and Wednesday. No flows will be scheduled atthe 500267 meter, affecting about 50 MMcf/d, the pipeline said.

Gas will start flowing today from Nova Scotia to New Englandthrough the new Maritimes & Northeast Pipeline after theNational Energy Board (NEB) conditionally OK’d the start ofCanadian operations late yesterday. Meanwhile, consultationscontinue between Maritimes management and the Union of Nova ScotiaIndians (UNSI), which had sought to block the project.

During Sept. 7-11 maintenance on its Topock (AZ) Lateral andrelated facilities, Transwestern expects no flows to either SoCalGas or PG&E at their Topock interconnects. However, thepipeline said it is investigating “limited alternative deliveryarrangements” for the two points. It will be able to schedule up to300,000 MMBtu/d at Mojave Pipeline’s Topock interconnect.

Flows will be scheduled to zero through the constrained area asNGPL performs a class upgrade Aug. 3-5 on its A/G Line near Station802 (Lamar County, TX). A similar restriction will occur Aug. 3-4as NGPL lowers the Arkoma Line near Station 812 (Atoka County, OK).See the bulletin board for details on the constraint locations.

Flows to some customers of distributor Cascade Natural Gas weredisrupted Saturday when Northwest Pipeline’s 22-inch mainlineruptured near Pendleton, OR.

PanCanadian Petroleum subsidiary PanCanadian Gulf of MexicoInc., made a deep-water oil and gas discovery in the Gulf of Mexicothat it likened to Shell’s prolific Auger Field. The Llanodiscovery well, in Garden Banks Block 386 about 137 miles offshoreLouisiana, drilled to a record depth for the Gulf of 27,864 feet.The sands at Llano correlate closely to similar sands encounteredby Shell Deepwater Development in the Auger Field, less than 15miles to the southwest, containing a reported 220 million barrelsof oil equivalent reserves. Auger has reported reserves of 220million Boe with approximate production of 100,000 barrels of oiland 300 MMcf of gas per day.

Depending on favorable Gulf of Mexico weather, Sea Robin expectsto restore flows on its 16-inch West Cameron 580 lateral by Sunday(see Daily GPI, Feb. 3). The force majeure that was implementedJan. 27 because of a leak will remain in effect until repairs havebeen completed.
