Transco reported finding a leak on its 24-inch diameter mainline in Kleberg County, TX, and said Monday the impacted segment had been isolated to assess damage and determine repair plans. Seven meters in the area have been shut in until further notice.

ALJ Rules Former Amaranth Trader Manipulated Gas Markets

A FERC administrative law judge (ALJ) has issued an initial decision finding that former Amaranth natural gas trader Brian Hunter manipulated the gas futures market between February and April 2006, which subsequently took a toll on physical gas contracts over which the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) has jurisdiction.

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission Tuesday issued a final General Conformity Determination (GCD) for Maryland, finding that construction and operation of a liquefied natural gas (LNG) import terminal and natural gas pipeline proposed by AES Sparrows Point LNG and Mid-Atlantic Express LLC conform to the regulations in the state’s implementation plan for air quality standards as required under the federal Clean Air Act. A separate final GCD is being prepared for Pennsylvania.

KKR will invest $350 million in privately held East Resources Inc., considered one of the most active players in the natural gas play.
