Magnum Hunter Output up 26%; On Track to Grow 10-16%

Magnum Hunter Resources Inc., which will finalize a $1.9 billion stock merger Cimarex Energy Co. in early June, on Wednesday reported oil and natural gas production was up 26% from a year ago. The company also said it remains on track for production to grow 10-16% this year.

ChevronTexaco, Cheniere Finalize 20-Year Agreement for Sabine Pass LNG

After calling off talks to take an ownership stake in the project, an affiliate of ChevronTexaco Global Gas on Monday said it had finalized a 20-year agreement for 700 MMcf/d of reserved regasification capacity at Cheniere Energy Inc.’s Sabine Pass Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) terminal in Texas. The agreement also includes options to reduce or expand capacity.

Apache Corp. on Tuesday completed a series of agreements with ExxonMobil Corp. affiliates that are expected to optimize both companies’ oil and natural gas exploration and development programs in North America. Among other things, the agreements hand Apache control over 28 producing oil and gas fields in West Texas and New Mexico and give the independent exploration rights to thousands of undeveloped acres in Alberta.

Court Expected to Act Soon to Finalize El Paso Settlement with Four States

A California Superior Court in San Diego is expected to rule the first week of December in the $1.6 billion settlement between El Paso Corp. and four western states, the principal one being California. Two separate court approvals are needed before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission-approved deal can be made final, both of which could come before the end of the year.
