If ExxonMobil Corp. has its way, it could be exporting natural gas from the United States and Canada to overseas markets, after the supermajor on Wednesday filed for permission to export 30 million metric tons a year (mmty) of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the west coast of British Columbia (BC).

City of San Bruno Challenges CPUC Gas Safety Meeting
San Bruno, CA, the suburb south of San Francisco that endured a devastating natural gas pipeline rupture and explosion almost three years ago, on Wednesday filed a motion with California state regulators calling for postponement or changes in an upcoming two-day utility safety symposium. And the regulators on Thursday said they will postpone the event.

LNG Export, Import Terminal Proposals Advance — Mostly
Aguirre Offshore GasPort LLC, a unit of Excelerate Energy LP, has filed an application at FERC to build a floating offshore liquefied natural gas (LNG) import terminal and associated facilities to provide gas to the largest power generation facility in Puerto Rico. At the same time, an affiliate of Cambridge Energy Holding LLC and Cove Point LNG are moving forward with their proposed LNG export facilities. However, after having lost patience, the Commission vacated authorizations for AES Ocean Express LLC’s LNG-related project.
