Range Doubles Marcellus Output, Plans Repeat in 2011

Opal Plant operator Williams Field Services (WFS) said Tuesday afternoon existing cold in the plant area and “the projected extremely cold weather forecast going into the long holiday weekend may require WFS to make nomination reductions. These cuts would be due to the potential for current and future [equipment] freeze-offs. We are encouraging all customers to nominate the gas they believe is currently flowing.” WFS also advised customers to rank the gas they would prefer to have cut if that became necessary.

Bevy of Anadarko’s Onshore Wells Awaiting Infrastructure

Anadarko Petroleum Corp. has 100 wells, “maybe a few more,” in the Marcellus Shale alone that are not completed or tied in as they await infrastructure, a company executive said Tuesday.

‘Extremely Active’ Hurricane Season Possible, NOAA Says

The 2010 Atlantic hurricane season, which begins Tuesday (June 1) is expected to be “active to extremely active,” with 14-23 named storms, including eight to 14 hurricanes, three to seven of them intense (Category Three or greater), according to an outlook issued Thursday by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) Climate Prediction Center.

Now a Major Hurricane, Bill Stays at Sea
